Precision Earthmoving for Stable, Drainage-Smart Sites
Cut and fill, rough and finish grading, terrain modification — for residential pads, commercial sites, and engineered fills across Cedar City and Iron County.
Most grading is done by eyeball and that's why it fails
Lasers, GPS, and drainage from day one
- ✓Rotary laser and GPS-guided grading equipment
- ✓Cut and fill balancing to minimize haul-off cost
- ✓Positive drainage to and away from foundations
- ✓Compaction in lifts where structural loading requires
- ✓Finish grading prepped for sod, paving, or landscape
Earthmoving scope
Rough Grading
Bulk earthmoving to design elevation, ±0.2 ft typical.
Finish Grading
Tight-tolerance finish for paving, sod, or hardscape.
Pad Prep
Building pad construction with sub-base, compaction, and drainage.
Cut & Fill
Balanced excavation and placement to minimize off-haul.
Driveway & Road Grading
Crowned profiles, ditching, base prep.
Backfill
Around foundations, utilities, retaining walls — properly compacted.
Earthmoving done the A to Z way
Measured Tolerances
Contract specifies finish-grade tolerance. Verified with instruments before sign-off.
Drainage Built In
Positive slope, swales, and outlets included in the grading plan.
Owned Equipment
Mini to mid-size excavators, skid steers, and laser/GPS instrumentation in-house.
Right-Sized
We match equipment to the site. Tight residential lots don't get 30-ton dozers.
Frequently Asked
Q.How precise is your finish grading?
For residential pads we routinely hold ±0.10 ft. For commercial work with engineered grades, ±0.05 ft with GPS-guided equipment or laser level. Tolerances spelled out in the contract.
Q.Can you grade for drainage even on flat lots?
Yes — sometimes especially. Flat lots need positive slope built in (typically 2% away from foundations). We use rotary lasers to establish the right fall and verify it before sign-off.
Q.Do you haul off excess material?
Yes. Cut spoils get hauled to approved fill sites. We can also import select fill for raised pads or low spots.
Q.What's the difference between rough grading and finish grading?
Rough grading gets the site close to design elevation and shape — usually within a tenth or two. Finish grading dials in to final tolerance and prepares the surface for landscaping, sod, or paving.
