Craftsmanship That Outlasts the Building Around It

Brick, stone, block, and veneer masonry for Cedar City and Iron County. Residential accents, full facades, structural walls, fireplaces, retaining walls, and commercial masonry.

The Challenge

Good masonry takes more than mortar and a level

Real masonry โ€” the kind that holds plumb after fifty winters and reads as honest craftsmanship โ€” depends on details most general contractors don't notice. Mortar joint width and color. Bond pattern selected for the stone shape. Weep holes and flashing behind veneer. Footings sized for the wall above. Skipping any of these turns a beautiful wall into a maintenance problem inside a decade.
Our Approach

Old-trade craftsmanship, modern engineering

We approach masonry with respect for the trade. Our crews are experienced in brick, natural stone, and CMU; we work from engineered drawings for anything structural; and we treat the details โ€” flashing, weep holes, expansion joints, mortar mix design โ€” as part of the install, not optional add-ons.
  • โœ“Brick and stone bond patterns selected for the architecture
  • โœ“Tinted mortar to match historic or design intent
  • โœ“Through-wall flashing and weep holes behind veneer
  • โœ“Structural footings engineered for retaining and bearing walls
  • โœ“Tooth-in repair and addition matching for older masonry

Why A to Z

Why masonry deserves A to Z

Real Craft Experience

Crews who've laid thousands of square feet โ€” not a framing crew trying their hand.

Design-Sensitive

Bond pattern, mortar color, and joint tooling chosen for the project.

Detail-Driven

Flashing, weep holes, expansion joints โ€” the parts that make veneer last decades.

Integrated With Other Trades

Structural masonry coordinated with framing, concrete, and roofing.

Stone fireplace + chimney rebuild โ€” Brian Head
Project Spotlight

Stone fireplace + chimney rebuild โ€” Brian Head

A 1970s ski cabin with a deteriorated stone chimney that had partially separated from the structure. We dismantled the chimney to the firebox, rebuilt the flue with a stainless liner, re-laid the stone using salvaged material plus matched new stone, and tied the new chimney into the structure with proper flashing and expansion gaps. The owners now have a working fireplace and a chimney good for another fifty years.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Q.What types of masonry do you install?

Brick (full and thin), natural stone (cut, veneer, fieldstone, flagstone), CMU block (structural and architectural), and adhered or anchored stone veneer. Residential and commercial.

Q.Can you match existing masonry on an addition or repair?

Yes. We source matching brick, stone, and mortar color whenever possible, and tooth in new work to existing courses so the seam reads as original construction.

Q.Do you do structural masonry or just decorative?

Both. CMU block walls, structural brick bearing walls, engineered retaining walls, and decorative veneer all in scope.

Q.How long does masonry last?

Properly installed brick and stone masonry lasts 100+ years. The mortar joints typically need re-pointing every 50โ€“75 years; the units themselves outlast the building.
